PRIVACY POLICY FRAMEWORK
This privacy policy governs your use of the Home Dim Light Melatonin Onset software application (“Application”) on a mobile device. The Application was created by the University of Michigan. The Application includes videos, pictures, and timed prompts to guide you through saliva collection at home for later determination of the dim light melatonin onset.
What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?
User Provided Information –The Application will record the time when you scan your saliva samples. The Application will also ask you to take optional photos of yourself (“selfies”) at various times during the home procedure. These photos remain on the mobile device for the researcher who gave it to you with the Application installed, to review later and are deleted on the mobile device whenever the Application is reset for another use. All information the researcher is asked to enter into the Application in preparation for your use is coded information that does not identify you. If you are a research participant, you should have signed a study consent form before being asked to use this app.
Automatically Collected Information - In addition, the Application may collect certain information automatically, such as the light levels you are in during your saliva collection. At the end of the procedure the Application will automatically create a report of the time of the saliva sample scans and light exposure data and email it to the researcher who gave you the mobile device with the Application. Before using the Application, you will be asked to connect the mobile device to your local Wi-Fi and therefore your IP address will be recorded.
This Application does not collect precise information about the location of the mobile device.
Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Application?

If the University of Michigan is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our website of any change in ownership or uses of this information, as well as any choices you may have regarding this information;
